FEATURED ENTREPRENEURS

Jakyra Simpson

Founder of: STEAM Sneakerheadz

STEAM Sneakerheadz™ is an education consultation business that combines the passion for sneaker culture with the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM).

We strive to expose students and the public especially those within underrepresented, underserved, and marginalized communities to advanced STEAM science topics. Utilizing hip-hop and sneaker culture as the main topics at the end of the workshop participants create and design their custom STEAM sneaker artwork.

During a STEAM sneaker art workshop students create and customize their sneaker artwork. In each workshop, we introduce chemistry concepts and provide a chemical demo (if applicable), and a hands-on activity. Workshops are created for students in grades 6-12 and up to adults. These workshops are designed to promote STEAM education with project-based learning and hands-on activities.

Greatest Challenge:

I have explored packaging up my curriculum and selling online, not yet executed, still working on legal protection.

Goals/Balance: Never maintained always put school first but recently starting dedicating 1-2 work days to business

ENTREPRENUER #2

Brandon Teller

Founder of: ColdStart.ai

ColdStart.ai is a company that uses AI to build advanced targetting strategies for customers to find good products organically for long term success that advertisements don't provide.

Greatest Challenge:

Should this technology be apart of my current startup or as a separate company. Both have pros and cons and I've gotten a lot of mixed information on this.
