Subcomponents Plus provides the additive manufacturing bridge between innovation and production, including services for prototyping, validation, one-off and small batch runs, up to production partnerships for scale-up. Subcomponents Plus focuses specifically on what the big manufacturers ignore: custom components, low volume runs, fast design iteration, reverse engineering, and specialty and legacy replacement parts.
Challenge Presented:
Establishing a ‘nexus model’, starting with their partnership with the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Harrisburg University, where Subcomponents Plus leverages other maker-spaces and university partners in order to scale its manufacturing services to more small businesses and entrepreneurs, located around future ‘nexus hubs’ of partners across the country.
